Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is, most likely, one of the most important composition techniques, if not the most important.

The rule of thirds consists of dividing the photograph, or frame, in 9 equal squares, doing so by placing two parallel and equally placed horizontal lines and two other vertical lines, which are parallel and equally placed as well.

Once the frame has been divided, we "put" the main or most important objects in the intersection of two of these lines, so that we can draw the spectator's attention to these objects.
